This

three-day conference will provide a common platform for experts and professionals from the

power sector to engage in dialogue, learning, and collaboration. Senior officials from the

Ministry of Power and public sector undertakings in the power sector will also be present on

the occasion.

The annual conference marks a proud chapter in NTPC’s journey, commemorating the

commissioning of its first thermal power unit at Singrauli in 1982, a landmark that laid the

foundation for decades of operational excellence in India’s power sector.

Over the years, IPS has evolved into a trusted platform where policymakers, industry

professionals, plant operators, manufacturers, researchers, and academicians come together

to exchange experiences, share practical insights, and collectively strategise the way forward

for power generation in the country.

The theme for IPS 2026, ‘Optimising Thermal Generation with Quality & Reliability’, highlights

the continued importance of thermal power in ensuring energy security and grid stability,

even as India steadily advances towards a cleaner and more diversified energy mix. Quality

and reliability remain at the heart of dependable power supply, and the conference will focus

on strengthening these pillars through shared learning and real-world practices.

The three-day conference will feature technical sessions, where experts from across the sector

will deliberate on operational challenges, evolving requirements, and emerging opportunities

in power generation. Discussions will span a wide range of themes, including flexible plant

operations, safety, asset management, water and fuel management, digital applications,

efficiency improvement, and the role of new energy pathways such as nuclear, hydrogen,

renewable energy, and storage solutions.

The 2026 edition of IPS has received an overwhelming response, with over 466 authors

submitting technical papers showcasing the latest advancements, best practices and

innovations shaping the future of power generation. 107 selected technical papers by various

organizations, OEMs, IPPs, Government regulatory & statutory bodies, Universities, EPRI and

other reputed research institutes will be presented during the conference.

A major attraction of IPS 2026 will be the Techno Galaxy Exhibition, featuring cutting-edge

technologies, artificial intelligence, digitalisation and creative solutions from numerous

vendors and manufacturers. This platform will enable industry stakeholders to explore

innovations that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in power plant operations. The

exhibition will also feature models and performance highlights of various NTPC stations

represented through their respective regional headquarters.

As NTPC continues to power the nation while embracing sustainability and innovation, IPS

2026 aims to serve as a meaningful forum for strengthening operational excellence, nurturing

collaboration, and reinforcing the collective commitment to reliable and responsible power

generation.

NTPC currently operates over 87 GW of installed capacity, with 32 GW under construction,

and has set an ambitious target to scale up to 149 GW, including 60 GW of renewable energy

capacity, by 2032. With a diverse portfolio of thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants,

NTPC is dedicated to delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity to the nation.

Raipur, 12th Feb 2026: NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, is set to organise the Indian Power Stations O&M Conference (IPS 2026) from 13th to 15th February 2026.
